Hi guys!
I know Easter can be a daunting time for most of you (and I certainly remember it being so for me)
I wanted to make a post about how to deal with those guilty feelings..
1. Easter Eggs are enjoyed by people all over the world. Do they stop before to take a second thought about eating a whole Easter Egg? No! I remember a time where I would eat as much chocolate as I could (till the point where I felt sick) but that's just what kids do at Easter time! Just keep telling yourself that it is completely normal to have chocolate.
2. Chocolate is not "bad for you" if you eat it in moderation, as with everything else. I eat chocolate quite a lot now, for example on Easter Sunday I had Kit Kat on my porridge (see pic below) AND I had other chocolate during the day. Did I gain 100pounds overnight.. certainly not.

3. The longer you avoid chocolate the harder it gets to accept that is actually a nice thing that should be enjoyed. It will not harm you. I remember a time when I cut it out of my diet completely, I would buy chocolate and store it in my cupboards for weeks, months, even years. It was like I loved buying it and it made me excited but I just wouldn't eat it. I must admit I do have a stash of goodies but I actually am getting through it all (all be it very slowly.)
4. If you find yourself over thinking things after you've eaten some chocolate, I always suggest trying to distract those negative thoughts. Try reading / drawing / colouring / listening to music / playing with your pets / watching TV etc. For me, I invested in a number of "Colour by number" books & pots of crayons/colouring pens which were a great distraction away from negative food thoughts. This really helped me!
5. Remember - chocolate is not to be "feared" any more. Write a list of chocolate bars that you used to enjoy. Start challenging yourself to one a day (or a few a week if it seems too much!) Tick them off one by one. I remember doing this and I felt kind of powerful doing so.
P.S. my fave Easter Quote...
"Easter is meant to be a symbol of hope, renewal, and new life." By Janine di Giovanni
I really hope this post has helped you. Thank you for reading.
